Kenny has worked for the last six years as Head of Emerging Technologies at brightsolid, a leading hosting and digital services company based in Scotland. Kenny is responsible for defining, driving, and delivering brightsolid‘s technology strategy.
Named one of Scotland’s top 40 under 40 innovators and entrepreneurs in Scotland in 2016, and Microsoft MVP in Cloud and Datacenter Management in 2017, Kenny has made significant impact to Scotland’s digital agenda by setting up and driving the first kids’ Code Clubs in the country three years ago, helping build out to almost 500 such clubs now actively operating today in the country.
In 2016 he was privileged to be invited to speak at two sessions at Microsoft Ignite in Atlanta, about his experience in brightsolid building the world’s first production ready Guarded Fabric in Hyper-V 2016, and about the massive benefits of Storage Replica. Latterly he was the principle partner guest speaker at the UK launch of Windows Server 2016, as well as co-founding and acting as inaugural speaker at the UK’s first Microsoft Partner User Group.
Kenny’s primary goals in 2017 are driving adoption and understanding of Azure Stack and Windows Server 2016, building awareness of HoloLens and the Windows Holographic Shell, and defining the edge/fog computing model for brightsolid to follow in Cloud and IoT in the future.
